Prayer and Fasting

A Prayer and Fasting Journey to Easter
March 11th-29th, 2024

“Fasting is for this world, for stretching our hearts to get fresh air beyond the pain and trouble around us. And it is for the battle against the sin and weakness inside us. We express our discontent with our sinful selves and our longing for more of Christ”

Here are some resources to help you as you journey through your nineteen days of prayer and fasting.

Types of Fasts

There are various forms of fasting. The best fast is the one decided on between you and God–He will honor your best sacrifice.

A full fast is to drink only liquids – water, broth, juice, and other clear liquids.

A partial fast is typically from 6:00am to 3:00pm or from sun up to sundown. To do a partial fast, choose a time frame and select a full fast, a Daniel fast or give up at least one item of food.

A Daniel Fast includes removing meat, sweets, and bread from your diet. You can drink water and juice, and eat fruits and vegetables.

If you are not medically able to fast food, you can disrupt your “normal” with a digital fast. You could do a partial fast by removing certain apps or TV shows or removing your digital devices during a specific timeframe, or you could do a full fast, refraining from your digital devices for the duration of the 19 days.

Join Us

During our time of prayer and fasting, we’re journeying through a series of messages called The Wonderful Cross. We’re examining the significance of the wounds of Jesus and discovering how, through Christ’s suffering, we find restoration, redemption, and true healing.
